Jan Suraaj Party leader Prashant Kishor has approached the Supreme Court challenging the Bihar Assembly elections held last year. The apex court is scheduled to hear the petition on Friday, in which he has sought fresh elections to the Bihar Assembly.
In his petition, Prashant Kishor objected to the Bihar government’s decision to transfer ₹10,000 to women under the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme after the election schedule was announced. He stated that the move violated the Model Code of Conduct and influenced voters. Citing these reasons, the Jan Suraaj Party has requested the Supreme Court to cancel the elections and order fresh polls in the state.
