Prakash Raj has publicly extended his support to the viral “Cockroach Janta Party” movement, which has been gaining momentum across social media platforms. Sharing a post by Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke, the actor wrote that he hopes the youth of the country will “rise, resist and reclaim.” The movement reportedly began as an online satire following controversial remarks involving unemployed youth being compared to cockroaches. Over time, it evolved into a larger digital campaign driven by Gen Z voices discussing unemployment, education, healthcare, governance, and political accountability through memes, reels, and social media activism.
The Cockroach Janta Party has stated that its campaign is democratic and non-violent while aiming to represent the frustrations of young people. Prakash Raj’s endorsement triggered strong reactions online, with supporters praising him for amplifying youth concerns and anti-establishment sentiment. Critics, however, dismissed the movement as internet satire and alleged that it indirectly targets the BJP-led central government. Prakash Raj has consistently remained one of the most outspoken critics of Narendra Modi and right-wing politics in India, often voicing his opinions on social and political developments.
