The war of words between the Congress and the BJP has intensified, with senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launching a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the RSS, calling them “traitors.” Speaking at public meetings in Raebareli and Amethi, he alleged that they were undermining the Constitution and working against national interests by favoring select industrialists. He urged people to resist and question those promoting such ideologies, stating that attacks on the Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Mahatma Gandhi were happening regularly.
The BJP strongly countered his remarks, with party leaders stating that calling national leaders “traitors” is an insult to 140 crore Indians. BJP leaders demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of making irresponsible statements out of political frustration. They criticized his comments as reflective of an extremist mindset and alleged that he was acting against the country’s interests. The political exchange has further escalated tensions between the two major parties.
