Political tensions have intensified in Proddatur following controversial remarks attributed to former YSRCP MLA Rachamallu Siva Prasad Reddy. TDP leader Nandyala Kondareddy strongly criticised Rachamallu, alleging that his language had become provocative. Kondareddy claimed that disappointment over local election developments and a lack of public support had contributed to the former MLA’s remarks. He also questioned Rachamallu’s role in the nomination process and criticised the reported withdrawal of his wife’s nomination.
Responding to the alleged remark about burying those who win, Kondareddy said his side did not depend on political power and had the courage and self-respect to respond. He stated that he wanted peace to prevail in Proddatur but warned that they would respond if the provocative statements continued. Kondareddy also claimed that while his side was focused on improving access to education, healthcare and employment, Rachamallu was making statements that undermined democratic values. The allegations and political criticism reflect Kondareddy’s version of events and have not been independently verified.
