Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Puttaparthi today to participate in the Sathya Sai Baba centenary celebrations. He is scheduled to arrive at 9:30 AM, and several dignitaries including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh have already reached the venue.
A special ₹100 commemorative coin and four postal stamps will be unveiled by the Prime Minister. Modi will also launch a major welfare scheme aimed at providing financial support to school-going girls under the age of ten, along with distributing cattle to 100 farmers. Another key initiative related to education, health and social service is expected to be introduced by the Sathya Sai Central Trust.
Around 500 VIPs including Sachin Tendulkar, Aishwarya Rai and former CJI NV Ramana are attending the ceremony at Hill View Stadium. With nearly one lakh devotees expected, authorities have set up strict security measures and diverted traffic around Puttaparthi.
CM Chandrababu and Minister Lokesh were warmly welcomed by district officials and political leaders upon their arrival on Tuesday evening.
