Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud responded to reports suggesting that SIT notices may be issued to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in connection with the phone tapping case. He stated that there is no official clarity yet regarding the issuance of notices. Mahesh Kumar Goud said that KCR is respected as a leader of the Telangana movement and emphasized that the investigation should focus solely on uncovering the truth.
He added that it must be determined who all were involved in the phone tapping operation, noting that more than 500 phone numbers were allegedly tapped. The PCC chief stressed that such activities could not have taken place without the involvement of the then Chief Minister and ministers, and that officials alone could not have carried out such actions. He asserted that the SIT has the authority to issue notices to anyone as part of the probe and said that only a complete and transparent investigation would bring out the facts, which the people of Telangana are demanding. He also clarified that there is no political vendetta behind the possible issuance of notices to KCR.
