Farmers from Penumaka village held a press conference in Amaravati, alleging irregularities in the ongoing land acquisition process and demanding justice. Referring to the incidents that occurred during a programme organized by the YSRCP CRDA Farmers Protection Committee, the farmers claimed that the authorities were not following the prescribed legal procedures. They said they had already approached the court seeking relief and questioned why land acquisition was being carried out without providing compensation to affected landowners.
The farmers further alleged that they were being intimidated by officials and demanded transparency in the acquisition process. They questioned the silence of the District Collector on their grievances and expressed concern over the lack of coordination between CRDA officials and the district administration. The farmers urged the government to address their issues promptly and ensure that due process and compensation are provided before proceeding with land acquisition.
