Peddi Sudarshan Reddy Statue Pedestal Demolished in Narsampet

In Narsampet, municipal staff demolished the pedestal constructed for installing a statue of late leader and former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy. The pedestal had been built opposite the government medical college. Municipal authorities reportedly took the action citing the absence of permission for installing the statue. The pedestal was removed by municipal personnel during the night.

Peddi Sudarshan Reddy’s supporters and some locals alleged that the officials demolished the structure despite the statue being planned on private property, claiming that permission was not required. The incident has triggered discussion among political circles in the area. Municipal officials, however, maintained that the action was taken over permission-related issues and in accordance with applicable rules.
