PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud advised the BRS leadership to speak less about the Kaleshwaram project, criticizing former Chief Minister KCR for constructing it with an authoritarian approach while sidelining engineers. He alleged that the project has turned into a failure and questioned KTR’s claim that water could be supplied within a week if the project was handed over, asking what had been achieved during their nine-and-a-half-year rule.
He further accused KCR’s family of massive corruption worth thousands of crores in the name of the project. Goud stated that concerns over the structural quality of Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages were valid and said the Congress government would soon conduct technical evaluations and take up restoration works. He also criticized BJP MP Etela Rajender for speaking like a BRS agent and clarified that the National Dam Safety Authority had advised against releasing water from the Kannepalli pump house.
