Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Mahesh Kumar Goud has responded to BRS leader Harish Rao’s letter on the 22-A lands issue, alleging that the BRS is unnecessarily creating controversy over the matter. Goud said that whenever any errors occurring at the lower level come to the government’s notice, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directs officials to identify and rectify the lapses. He added that the concerned minister had also acknowledged an error and taken steps to correct it. Goud asserted that the 22-A provisions would not create scope for land grabbing or illegal occupation of land. He further said that ordinary citizens who face injustice under the Congress government can approach Gandhi Bhavan for assistance.
Goud also addressed former minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy’s recent remarks, saying that Congress leaders had spoken to him and understood his concerns. He announced that 70 per cent of nominated posts would be allocated to senior Congress leaders. On the political situation in Banswada, Goud said the party would move forward by bringing together both senior and new leaders. He added that Pocharam remains supportive of Congress ideology and the party’s welfare-oriented policies.
