The Department of Parliamentary Affairs has released the schedule for the Parliament Budget Session, which will be held in two phases. The session will begin on this month 28 with President Droupadi Murmu addressing both Houses of Parliament. The first phase will continue from January 28 to February 13, followed by a break of nearly a month. The second phase is scheduled to commence on March 9 and conclude on April 2.
The most important highlight of the session, the Union Budget, will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1. Notably, even though February 1 falls on a Sunday, the government has decided to present the budget on the same day. The Economic Survey is likely to be tabled in Parliament on this month 31. With the budget expected to shape the country’s economic direction, it has generated high expectations among the general public, industry circles, and people of the five states heading for assembly elections this year.
