A video of a phone conversation between former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Bhaskara Reddy, father of murdered YSRCP youth wing leader Navuluri Chennareddy, has surfaced. Chennareddy, a resident of Rentachintala mandal in Palnadu district, was allegedly attacked while travelling alone from Macherla to Renta on Thursday night. According to the details shared by the victim’s family, unidentified persons allegedly chased him in vehicles, rammed his two-wheeler and subsequently killed him by slitting his throat. His body was later found in agricultural fields beside the road.
The incident also led to a confrontation at the Gurazala government hospital, where former MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Venkatarami Reddy had arrived to see the body. YSRCP leaders present at the hospital questioned the Pinnelli brothers over the killing. Chennareddy’s maternal uncle Rangareddy alleged that factional differences within the Pinnelli brothers’ group had led to the murder. Later, Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy connected Bhaskara Reddy with YS Jagan over the phone. During the conversation, Bhaskara Reddy repeatedly alleged that the killing was carried out by “our own people” and not outsiders or members of another political party. Jagan expressed shock and ended the conversation by saying, “Sorry, brother.”
