

Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the tenth time on Thursday. The oath-taking ceremony took place at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where 27 newly appointed ministers also took oath. Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha have been appointed as the Deputy Chief Ministers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and several other dignitaries attended the event. PM Modi later congratulated Nitish Kumar on X, calling him an experienced leader with a strong record of good governance in Bihar.
In the recent Bihar Assembly elections, the NDA alliance registered a massive victory by winning 202 out of 243 seats. The BJP secured 89 seats, while the JD(U) won 85. The new cabinet includes 14 ministers from the BJP and 9 from the JD(U).
Nitish Kumar has served as the Chief Minister of Bihar for nearly 19 years. His first stint in 2000 lasted only seven days. With the NDA once again placing its trust in him, he has assumed the office of Chief Minister for the tenth time.
