Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav stated that the NDDB report clearly mentioned the possibility of adulteration in ghee used at Tirumala. He said former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had raised the issue based on the same report. Soon after coming to power, the government initiated a cleansing drive in the TTD, during which these facts came to light. The minister added that Chandrababu only spoke about the issues that had already emerged through official findings.
Payyavula Keshav further said the NDDB report was submitted in 2022 but was deliberately suppressed since then. He explained that the report contained two key components—one being a chargesheet and the other a letter sent to the government. While the chargesheet has already been filed in court, the official note recommended action against concerned officials. The minister alleged that irregularities in Tirumala occurred knowingly and that action was recommended against officials including Balaji, Dharma Reddy, and Singhal. He added that the SIT has also advised strict action against those responsible.
