Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Member and Jana Sena Party General Secretary K. Nagababu strongly endorsed the proposal made by Jana Sena President and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to name the Polavaram Project after Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu. Nagababu said that Potti Sriramulu’s life remains an inspiration to generations, as his historic fast-unto-death played a decisive role in the formation of Andhra Pradesh at a time when Telugu-speaking people faced neglect. He stated that naming a major project after such a great leader would be a fitting tribute to his sacrifice.
Speaking at an event held at CK Convention Centre in Mangalagiri on Sunday, where several Arya Vaishya community members joined the Jana Sena Party under the leadership of noted chartered accountant Penugonda Subbarayudu, Nagababu recalled Potti Sriramulu’s legacy with deep respect. He noted that after the formation of the alliance government, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has been working tirelessly to strengthen the Panchayat Raj system and promote rural development. Nagababu added that moving away from the practice of naming projects after political leaders, dedicating a drinking water project supplying purified water to the Godavari districts in Potti Sriramulu’s name would ensure his sacrifices are remembered by future generations.
