Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has appealed to social media and digital media platforms not to create panic among people by posting fake or misleading thumbnails regarding Cyclone Montha.
She stated that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and she herself are closely monitoring the situation from the RTG Center. District officials have been alerted, and special officers have already been deployed in the cyclone-affected regions.
Anitha expressed concern that some YouTube channels and social media pages are spreading exaggerated visuals and false information, causing unnecessary fear among the public. She cautioned that such irresponsible behavior will not be tolerated, and strict legal action will be taken against those spreading fake news.
She urged all media outlets to act responsibly and share only verified updates from official government sources. The Home Minister reassured that the state government is fully prepared to tackle the cyclone situation and appealed to people not to believe in rumors or panic-inducing posts.
