Minister Sridhar Babu has strongly criticized BRS leader Harish Rao over his comments on scrapping the proposed Future City project. He said such statements were irresponsible and questioned whether the opposition wanted the state to develop or not. The Minister warned that remarks like these could discourage investments and push them to neighbouring states. He clarified that Future City is planned as a pollution-free industrial zone and asked how it is justified to oppose or call for its cancellation.
He further alleged that the BRS party is obstructing development initiatives being taken up by the government and engaging in blackmail politics. Since the formation of the new government, BRS leaders have been focusing mainly on criticism, he said. The Minister also accused the opposition of blocking key projects, including the proposed expansion of the Hyderabad metropolitan metro rail system.
