US President Donald Trump reacted for the first time after an armed young man intruded into the premises of his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago, and was shot dead by security personnel. Trump stated that many people have been targeting him and remarked that he does not know how long he will remain safe, sparking political debate. Security officials clarified that Trump was not present at the estate when the intruder entered the property. The former president usually spends weekends at the Florida estate.
Trump has faced multiple assassination attempts in the past. During the 2024 election campaign, a young man opened fire and a bullet grazed Trump’s ear, leaving him with minor injuries while he narrowly escaped danger. At the time, Trump said leaders like him often face threats and also referred to previous US presidents who encountered similar risks.
