Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT minister Nara Lokesh has reportedly taken a serious view of the behavior of certain TDP MLAs, particularly Kavali MLA Kavya Krishna Reddy, accused of mistreating party loyalists. The issue surfaced after the death of veteran TDP leader Malepati Subbanaidu from Nellore district, a 40-year party loyalist. Lokesh visited Subbanaidu’s family to express solidarity and promised justice after receiving complaints that the family was harassed following their withdrawal from contesting an assembly seat. Tensions escalated during Subbanaidu’s 10th-day ritual when Krishna Reddy arrived to pay respects, leading to a heated argument and scuffle between her followers and Subbanaidu’s supporters. Lokesh has since alerted senior party leaders to address grievances of long-time members and warned of stern action against those misusing power and damaging the party’s unity.
