Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has called on party workers to prepare for the upcoming local body elections. He urged Jana Sainiks and Veera Mahilas to carry forward the fighting spirit they displayed in the past despite pressure and attacks, and to protect their self-respect. He discussed the party’s strategy for municipal and panchayat elections at a Jana Sena Legislature Party meeting held at his office in the Assembly premises on Thursday.
Pawan Kalyan clarified that the strategy for local body elections would be different from that adopted in the general elections. He directed MLAs to assess the political and social conditions in their respective areas and identify seats where the party could contest effectively. He announced that a special committee of 9 to 11 members, including MLAs and senior leaders, would be formed to frame the party’s election guidelines while considering the views of grassroots workers. He also assured better political opportunities for party cadres in areas where they have not received adequate representation.
