BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) responded to the municipal election results, stating that party cadres put up a strong fight. While the party had expected to win over 30 municipalities, it secured 17. He expressed confidence that in municipalities where there is a hung situation, the party still has chances of forming the administration.
KTR alleged that despite extensive spending by the ruling Congress party, it failed to achieve the expected number of seats. He claimed there is dissatisfaction within Congress regarding the results.
Commenting on the BJP, he said that even after campaigning by national president Nitin Nabin and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the party could not win a single municipality. He remarked that although the BJP’s seats and vote share declined compared to previous elections, the party appears content.
KTR stated that the results serve as an answer to critics who questioned the BRS after the parliamentary elections. He recalled that when BRS was in power, Congress had won only four municipalities.
He also criticized the lack of clarity regarding rules related to ex-officio members, alleging inconsistent statements from officials and the government.
Regarding the Formula E race case, KTR accused the government of attempting to revive the issue again. He said he had already attended questioning four times and claimed that nothing substantial had emerged. He asserted that he would cooperate with any further inquiries and was not afraid, even if it led to imprisonment.
