BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao stated that the party will expand the Metro Rail network up to 400 kilometers once it returns to power. He alleged that both Congress and BJP are staging dramas in the name of Metro projects solely for GHMC elections. KTR claimed that when BRS had earlier proposed the Lakdikapul to BHEL Metro line, the BJP failed to grant approval. He further alleged that the Congress government is trying to burden people with an unnecessary ₹14,000 crore liability linked to L&T. He also criticized the cancellation of the Airport Metro project, which was initiated during the BRS regime, adding that the Congress will continue such “drama” for the next two and a half years.
On the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) issue, KTR said the Centre is willing to revive the factory in Adilabad district if the state government extends support. He emphasized that providing necessary incentives for industries in rural areas would help in re-establishing the CCI unit. Expressing hope that the efforts of the CCI Sadhana Samithi will succeed, he warned that protests would be intensified to mount pressure on both state and central governments if there is any delay or lack of progress.
