KTR Slams Speaker Over KCR Debt Remarks

BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly criticized Speaker Gaddam Prasad, alleging that he was making false statements about former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s borrowings. KTR said it is inappropriate for a constitutional authority to make such claims, adding that it damages the dignity of the Speaker’s office.

He further stated that official data from the RBI and CAG, as well as statements made in Parliament by the Union government, confirm that Telangana’s borrowings during the 10-year BRS rule were around ₹2.80 lakh crore. He accused the Speaker of inflating figures arbitrarily, mentioning amounts ranging from ₹8 lakh crore to ₹10 lakh crore without basis.
