KTR Launches Sharp Criticism of the Congress Government

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on the Congress government as it approaches three years in office. He questioned the police restrictions on DJs and songs in Hyderabad and said excessive suppression could lead to a strong public reaction. Referring to the recently released film ‘The Paradise’, KTR said that although the character associated with KCR appears only briefly, the way people remember the former chief minister was evident. He claimed that disappointment exists among various sections of society and criticised the government over real estate, metro expansion, the Musi River rejuvenation project and housing.

KTR said people living along the Musi catchment were worried and recalled the previous BRS government’s plans for a Rs 16,000-crore Musi rejuvenation project. He said 32 sewage treatment plants had been planned to prevent untreated wastewater from entering the river and claimed that pattas had been distributed to two lakh people under GO 58, besides construction of double-bedroom houses. He also questioned the absence of action against houses linked to some Congress leaders in the context of HYDRA operations. KTR alleged that the Congress government cancelled the tender for the Raidurgam–Shamshabad Metro project and criticised the Future City proposal. He further said KCR would return within two years. Meanwhile, with graduate voter registration for two Telangana MLC constituencies scheduled to begin on September 28, KTR urged eligible graduates to enrol as voters.
