KTR Has No Moral Right to Speak About Telangana Farmers: MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna

Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna responded to remarks made by BRS working president KTR, questioning his record on farmers’ issues in Telangana. Vamsi Krishna said KTR has repeatedly questioned the work of Congress MPs and challenged him to explain what he had done for farmers during the previous decade. He also questioned whether BRS MPs had ever raised the issue of Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) in Parliament or the Assembly. RFCL’s production and the timely supply of urea to farmers remain important issues in Telangana. Vamsi Krishna himself has raised questions in Parliament on RFCL’s production capacity and fertilizer distribution in Telangana.

Vamsi Krishna said Kaka Venkataswamy and Vivek Gaddam had worked towards resolving issues related to RFCL, generating employment and ensuring the availability of urea for Telangana farmers. He questioned whether KTR had raised the RFCL issue in Parliament or the Assembly when farmers were facing difficulties in obtaining urea. “KTR has no moral right to speak about Telangana and its farmers,” Vamsi Krishna said. He also levelled allegations of land grabbing and corruption against KTR and criticised his political statements. “Beware, KTR. You cannot become anything beyond the ‘Loser of Opposition’,” the MP remarked.
