During a media interaction at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, KTR commented on the municipal election results. He stated that they had consulted with the State Election Commission and the Chief Secretary regarding the registration of ex-officio votes. While they had expected an easy win in over 30 municipalities, the outcome was slightly lower than anticipated. He added that even in hung municipalities, the situation would be favorable for them. KTR also noted that the Congress party did not secure as many municipalities as they had hoped.
KTR further mentioned that except for the Karimnagar and Nizamabad regions, the BJP’s influence was minimal. He emphasized that since these were local elections, each area had unique circumstances. He clarified that the results of local body elections would not significantly impact the assembly elections, citing the Andhra Pradesh results as a clear example. He also highlighted that the BRS had performed significantly better in parliamentary, panchayat and municipal elections.
Regarding the Formula-E and phone-tapping cases, KTR explained what the ACB officials had determined. Although he had been summoned for investigation five times, he stated he would comply if called again. Additionally, he mentioned that the decision to support the CPI in New Gudem was made to send a clear message to the Singareni workers.
