Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy criticised the BJP over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging that the party was attempting to remove votes to return to power. He claimed that 130 million votes belonging to Dalits, Muslims and Christians had been deleted and alleged that the BJP had come to power in some states using bogus votes. These claims reflect the minister’s allegations and have not been independently verified here.
Komatireddy said Rahul Gandhi’s protest would continue until Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar resigned. He added that he was travelling to Delhi to join the campaign. The minister also accused the Modi government of using the Election Commission, the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI to continue in power. He said making Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister was the Congress party’s objective and claimed that people across the country were ready to support him in the next elections.
