Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has criticised the Congress party over its performance in recent by-elections, claiming that it failed to win any of the six seats contested across different states, while the BJP-led NDA secured victories in four. In a statement targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Kishan Reddy questioned how many more electoral defeats the party would need to face before acknowledging that voters were rejecting its political approach. He cited the Congress’s performance in Assam, West Bengal, Delhi, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh to argue that the party was struggling to regain public confidence.
Kishan Reddy also accused the Congress leadership of repeatedly blaming electronic voting machines, the Election Commission and electoral rolls instead of examining its own shortcomings. He rejected allegations of vote theft and argued that the party had distanced itself from voters through what he described as divisive politics, unfulfilled promises, corruption and ineffective governance. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, he said voters were supporting development, welfare programmes, infrastructure expansion and the vision of a developed India. He urged Rahul Gandhi to stop attacking constitutional institutions, respect electoral outcomes and focus on correcting the party’s mistakes to rebuild public trust. These remarks reflect the BJP leader’s political assessment of the Congress’s electoral performance.
