A major development has emerged in the high-profile POCSO case involving Bandi Bhagirath, which has triggered intense political debate in the state. The Medchal-Malkajgiri Court on Tuesday granted police custody of Bhagirath for three days, allowing investigators to question him further in connection with the case. The court issued the orders after police sought custody to gather additional details related to the allegations.
Bandi Bhagirath was booked at Pet Basheerabad Police Station over allegations of sexually assaulting a minor girl under the POCSO Act. He is currently in judicial remand and lodged in jail. Considering the seriousness and sensitivity of the case, police filed a custody petition before the court seeking permission for detailed interrogation. The court accepted the police request and approved three days of custody for further investigation.
