Amid the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, actor, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) president and Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan has made a key announcement. He stated that his party will not contest the elections directly and has decided to extend support to the DMK-led alliance. This decision comes at a time when seat-sharing arrangements between the DMK and its allies are being finalized.
Kamal Haasan explained that the number of seats allocated to his party, along with the proposal to contest under the DMK’s “Rising Sun” symbol, was not acceptable to MNM. For this reason, he said the party has decided to withdraw from the electoral contest. He also released a detailed letter in this regard, expressing gratitude to party workers for their support and commitment.
