Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kavitha was arrested by police in Boduppal on Thursday during a land protest in the Uppal constituency. The protest was organized as part of a planned agitation over land-related demands. Police intervened when Kavitha and her supporters reached the protest site, leading to a confrontation between police and party workers. A brief scuffle broke out, after which Kavitha and several supporters were taken into custody and shifted to Bollaram police station.
Speaking at the police station, Kavitha alleged that police used excessive force against women and Telangana activists, claiming that they were attacked during the protest. She said they were only demanding implementation of promises made by the Congress government, including allocation of 250 square yards of land to activists. She warned that the struggle would continue until promises are fulfilled and accused the government of suppressing democratic protests.
