Kaushik Reddy Criticises Revanth Reddy Government

BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy has hit back at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s remarks on the language used in the Assembly. Speaking to the media at the Assembly, Kaushik Reddy said Revanth Reddy claimed that he had never heard such language in his 20 year political career, but argued that the Telangana public had already seen the Chief Minister’s own language and choice of words over the years. He said the remarks made on the floor of the House were objectionable and alleged that the Chief Minister had insulted legislators.

Kaushik Reddy further alleged that inappropriate remarks were also made against women journalists and claimed that Congress legislators had used threatening language against BRS members. He questioned the decision to initiate action against him through the Ethics Committee and alleged that those now raising ethical concerns had themselves faced allegations in the past. BRS MLA Dr Kalvakuntla Sanjay also criticised the government, saying its functioning had repeatedly resembled a “circus” rather than a government.

Kaushik Reddy also alleged that BRS legislators were prevented from entering the Assembly and claimed that police arrangements during the protest were inappropriate. He alleged that male police personnel were deployed to stop women MLAs and female police personnel were used to restrain male MLAs. Referring to an incident involving police officer Shilpavalli, he alleged that some women MLAs were treated disrespectfully and claimed that one legislator was pulled by the hair and saree. He said such conduct was unacceptable and should not be repeated.
