CPI leader K. Narayana launched a strong attack on the Central government, questioning whether the alleged “theft of votes and jobs” would now be followed by money being taken from people’s pockets. Referring to political developments that have triggered debate across the country, Narayana said allegations of corruption against Gyaneshwari Mishra were resonating from Kerala to other parts of the country. He said demands for Kumar’s resignation were gaining further momentum.
Narayana also raised the issue of charges on UPI transactions, alleging that the government was attempting to collect crores of rupees from the public. Taking a swipe at the Centre, he said, “Vote theft, job theft and now pocket theft.” Referring to an earlier political crisis, Narayana claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had escaped the situation following the resignation of the Education Minister. He questioned whether the demand for Kumar’s resignation could now be ignored and asked the government to clarify who would take responsibility and answer the people.
