

Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar said that India and Japan have maintained strong friendly relations for several decades, built on mutual respect, democratic values and economic cooperation. He made these remarks at Japan Festival 2026, held at Cyber Gardens in Hyderabad’s HITEC City. Telangana Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy also attended the event. The Speaker highlighted the growing partnership between the two countries across sectors such as technology, industry, infrastructure, education and cultural exchange, noting that continued engagement could further strengthen their longstanding relationship.
Prasad Kumar said Hyderabad was developing rapidly and had established a strong presence in information technology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and industrial development. He also highlighted opportunities to strengthen cooperation with Japan’s Hiroshima Prefecture in areas including investment, advanced manufacturing, technology and innovation. Describing Hiroshima as a symbol of peace, stability and human resilience, he emphasised the importance of the India-Japan friendship. He expressed hope that greater cooperation and stronger people-to-people connections would deepen ties between the two countries and create new opportunities for mutual growth.
