A Jana Sena Party leader from West Godavari district is facing serious allegations after a minor girl accused him of harassment and abuse. According to reports, the victim alleged that her mother pressured her to stay with former sarpanch and Jana Sena leader Tirumani Venkataraju, who allegedly misused his political influence and threatened her by claiming nobody could act against him.
The girl further stated that her mother and the accused frequently consumed alcohol at home and pressured her mentally. She alleged that Venkataraju behaved inappropriately with her and forced himself on her against her wishes, causing severe emotional distress. The victim reportedly attempted suicide by jumping into the Godavari River but was rescued by locals. After approaching Narasapuram police with a complaint, she alleged that no serious action was taken despite repeated visits. The incident has sparked anger among residents, women’s groups and child rights activists, who are demanding strict legal action, protection and counselling support for the victim.
