TDP MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu and MLC Panchumarthi Anuradha criticised YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over his participation in the Independence Day celebrations. Appalanaidu alleged that Jagan did not show interest in hoisting the national flag and said an 84-year-old woman, Seetharamamma, who was undergoing treatment in a hospital, displayed patriotism by holding the national flag. He said people would respond to Jagan’s conduct.
Panchumarthi Anuradha also questioned Jagan’s priorities, alleging that he had time to visit people facing serious criminal allegations but not to participate in a national celebration. She accused him of lacking patriotism and made strong remarks about his political suitability. A response from the YSRCP to the allegations is awaited.
