Following joint strikes by the United States and Israel, Iran launched counterattacks targeting Israel and U.S. military installations in the Gulf region. Missiles were initially fired toward Tel Aviv and northern parts of Israel. While many projectiles were intercepted by Israel’s defense systems, explosions were reported in several locations. Authorities issued red alerts and advised citizens to remain close to bomb shelters.
Iran also reportedly targeted U.S. military bases, including Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE, and the headquarters of the United States Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. Missile and drone strikes were also reported near Riyadh and in Jordan.
Explosions were reported in Doha and Dubai. Falling debris from intercepted missiles reportedly caused casualties, with deaths reported in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. A drone strike was also reported near the Burj Khalifa area, injuring several people.
An IRGC Major General stated that the missiles used so far were older models and warned that more advanced weapons could be deployed if necessary. Tensions across the Middle East continue to escalate.
