With Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Telangana, internal issues within the state BJP unit have once again come into focus. Party workers believe that despite the BJP’s growing strength across the country, internal conflicts and group politics in Telangana are weakening the party’s prospects in the state. They feel unity among leaders is essential for success in the upcoming elections.
Several groups led by senior leaders are reportedly functioning within the Telangana BJP, leading to a lack of coordination in party activities. Workers say leaders are failing to come together on public issues and are acting independently instead of collectively opposing the government. Discussions are also continuing over the alleged lack of full support for state BJP president Ramchander Rao from senior leaders.
Political observers believe that the Jubilee Hills by election results, internal disagreements, and growing dissatisfaction among cadre may affect the party’s future in Telangana. BJP workers are hopeful that intervention from Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah could help resolve the issues and strengthen the party in the state.
