Pakistan once again faced embarrassment on the international stage as it attempted to raise allegations against India at the United Nations Security Council. India strongly rejected these claims and criticized Pakistan for interfering in its internal matters. During an open debate at the UN on the protection of civilians in armed conflicts, Pakistan’s representative brought up the Jammu and Kashmir issue, drawing a firm response from India.
India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, slammed Pakistan’s remarks, calling it ironic that a country involved in acts of violence speaks about internal issues of another nation. He referred to Pakistan’s recent attacks in Afghanistan earlier this year, including a strike on a hospital in Kabul during the holy month of Ramadan. Harish stated that the attack resulted in 269 deaths and 122 injuries, emphasizing that such actions expose Pakistan’s hypocrisy in speaking about international laws and civilian protection.
