BRS Working President KTR has directed party leaders and cadre to organise district decade celebrations across Telangana on October 10 and 11, marking ten years since the creation of the new districts. He said decentralisation of administration was a key objective of the Telangana movement and recalled that the then KCR government undertook administrative reforms to bring governance closer to people. Telangana, which had 10 districts at the time of state formation, was reorganised into 31 districts in 2016, while the creation of Mulugu and Narayanpet in 2019 took the total to 33.
KTR asked party leaders to hold decade programmes at every district headquarters and felicitate JAC members and activists who had fought for the creation of the districts. He also called for the participation of bar associations, journalists, employees, pensioners, women’s and youth organisations, poets, artists and social activists. Leaders were asked to highlight each district’s development over the past decade, explain the changes through an “Then–Now” approach and showcase their respective achievements through local media and social media platforms.
