A tense situation unfolded during former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Penamaluru constituency in Krishna district. Multiple vehicles in his convoy reportedly collided near Gandigunta in Uyyuru mandal, injuring several people and causing a massive traffic jam on the highway. Police alleged that some YCP leaders violated rules during the tour by setting up DJ systems without permission. When officials tried to remove the setup, a heated argument broke out between police and party workers.
Locals say that such incidents are becoming common due to the overenthusiasm of YCP supporters during Jagan’s tours. Similar controversies occurred earlier - including one in Sattenapalli, where a man died after being hit by a vehicle in Jagan’s convoy, and another in Rapthadu, where a helicopter windshield was damaged amid a chaotic crowd. Citizens are urging party leaders to ensure public safety and follow police guidelines during these visits, warning that repeated negligence could lead to more serious incidents.
