The High Court has postponed its verdict on the report of the Justice P.C. Ghosh Commission to the 22nd of this month. The commission was constituted to investigate alleged irregularities in the construction and maintenance of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages under the Kaleshwaram project. The court had already completed hearing arguments on multiple petitions challenging the commission, and the judgment, which was expected on Wednesday, has now been deferred.
The Justice P.C. Ghosh Commission was established through GO No. 6 issued by the government on March 14, 2024. Petitions were filed by BRS chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, former minister T. Harish Rao, IAS officer Smita Sabharwal, and former IAS officer S.K. Joshi, seeking to challenge the commission. A bench comprising Chief Justice Apares Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin conducted a detailed hearing on the matter, making the upcoming verdict crucial for both political and administrative developments in Telangana.
