Former minister Harish Rao criticized the state government over the handling of Godavari-Banakacherla and Godavari-Nallamala Sagar projects, stating that BRS had been raising concerns from the beginning. He alleged that the government wrote backdated letters only after being questioned by his party. Referring to a recent Supreme Court verdict on the Godavari-Nallamala Sagar issue, he said the court reprimanded the state for filing a weak petition. Harish Rao questioned why the Chief Minister failed to review the matter with senior officials before court proceedings. He accused the government of neglecting Telangana’s water rights and prioritizing political interests over state benefits, while also criticizing its stance on Andhra Pradesh’s irrigation projects.
He further announced plans to undertake a padayatra demanding the completion of Sangameshwara and Basaveshwara lift irrigation works in Sangareddy district. He alleged that Congress halted these projects after coming to power, causing hardship for farmers. He also raised concerns over water management at Singur and law and order issues, citing a recent murder case in Shabad. Harish Rao claimed that negligence and political interference have weakened governance, urging the government to act responsibly to safeguard public interests.
