Former minister and BRS leader Harish Rao strongly responded to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s remarks during his Independence Day speech. He alleged that Revanth Reddy’s statements were full of false promises and questioned whether the assurances made during his visits to Sangareddy and Zaheerabad had been implemented. Harish Rao also asked whether even a kilometre of road had been constructed in Sangareddy district. He claimed that Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy had stated in the Assembly that new ration cards were issued during the BRS government, while the Chief Minister was allegedly making contradictory statements at public meetings.
Harish Rao challenged Revanth Reddy to a debate over the jobs claimed to have been provided by the Congress government. He pointed out that the government had earlier stated in the Assembly that 16,000 jobs were provided but was now claiming that 79,000 jobs had been given. Harish Rao asked the Chief Minister to come for a public debate on the issue. He also challenged Revanth Reddy to visit the Dilsukhnagar coaching centre, Osmania University and Ashok Nagar Central Library without security personnel, or apologise to students.
