Former Telangana Minister and BRS Deputy Floor Leader Harish Rao strongly criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his remarks on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao challenged the Chief Minister to hand over the Irrigation Department to him for three months, stating that if he failed to bring irrigation water to farmers, he would retire from politics. He accused the Congress government of failing to utilise available floodwater despite adequate inflows at the Sammakka Barrage, leaving farmers in the erstwhile Warangal district without irrigation.
Harish Rao also rejected the government's allegations regarding the Kaleshwaram project, claiming that the Centre's actions and reports on Medigadda were politically motivated. He questioned the Congress government's claims on the Tummidihatti project and said he would resign as an MLA if proof was produced showing approval for the 152-metre proposal. Defending Kaleshwaram, he said the project comprises three barrages, 21 pump houses, 15 reservoirs and over 203 kilometres of tunnels, urging the government to stop what he described as a misinformation campaign. He presented documents through a PowerPoint presentation to counter the government's criticism and highlight what he termed the Congress administration's failures.
