Former Telangana minister and BRS leader Harish Rao criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government, alleging that administrative failures had resulted in power cuts and difficulties for farmers across the state. Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, he questioned the government's preparedness for anticipated El Niño conditions and claimed that timely water lifting from the Devadula and Kalwakurthy projects could have helped prevent drought-like conditions. He accused the administration of failing to take adequate measures to safeguard irrigation and drinking water supplies.
Harish Rao also raised concerns over the management of Singur Reservoir, alleging that 29 TMC of water had been released for proposed repair works that were subsequently left incomplete. He questioned how the government intended to meet drinking water requirements in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Kamareddy, Sangareddy and Medak districts. Claiming that the reservoir currently held only 3 TMC of water, he alleged that water was still being supplied to breweries despite growing public concerns. He demanded an explanation from the government over what he described as the prioritisation of liquor-related industries over essential drinking water needs.
