Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received another major international honour for his leadership in marine environmental protection and sustainable development. The Government of Seychelles conferred its highest civilian award, the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’, recognizing his contributions to climate change mitigation, green growth, and responsible management of ocean resources.
The presidential citation praised India’s support to small island nations and PM Modi’s role in strengthening global cooperation on climate resilience and the blue economy. The award further strengthens India–Seychelles strategic ties. PM Modi expressed gratitude on ‘X’, dedicating the honour to global efforts toward environmental protection. This adds to his recent international recognitions, including the FAO’s ‘Agricola Medal’ for agricultural transformation.
