Former minister and BRS Legislature Party Deputy Floor Leader Harish Rao criticised Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, alleging that he avoided answering the Opposition’s questions on the Rs.5,420 crore burden imposed on electricity consumers through true-up charges. Harish Rao said that while the government claims there are no power cuts, farmers are protesting in front of substations and on roads seeking uninterrupted power supply. He alleged that reduced generation at the Yadadri, Bhadradri and KTPS power plants, coal-related issues and decisions affecting the state’s power requirements reflect the government’s administrative failure.
Harish Rao alleged that the state’s power crisis was the result of the government’s negligence and policy decisions. He demanded clarity on coal stocks, power generation, Singareni-related decisions and proposed reforms in the power sector. He said farmers were facing difficulties due to power cuts and low voltage, with transformers and motors being damaged. Harish Rao demanded that the government ensure uninterrupted power supply and withdraw the Rs.5,420 crore burden imposed through true-up charges. Otherwise, he warned that the BRS would launch a public agitation.
