A Tahsildar in Gajwel, Siddipet district, has been suspended following allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards a farmer who approached the revenue office seeking a resolution to a land-related issue. According to the information available, Tahsildar Chittampally Swamy allegedly made an insulting remark to the farmer, asking, “Haven’t you died yet?” The incident reportedly triggered concern over the way the official treated a citizen seeking assistance with a land dispute.
Senior officials reportedly ordered the suspension based on a preliminary report submitted by the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO). The suspended Tahsildar has also been instructed not to leave the headquarters without prior permission. The action has brought the conduct of revenue officials and the treatment of farmers approaching government offices into focus. Further details regarding the incident and any subsequent departmental proceedings are awaited.
