Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu strongly criticized YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that farmers were neglected during the previous regime. He said the promises made to the farming community were not fulfilled and that farmers faced several hardships under Jagan’s tenure. The minister attended the swearing-in ceremony of the new governing body of the Guntur Mirchi Yard on Friday, where Kurra Apparao took oath as Chairman and Bitragunta Mallika as Vice-Chairperson. Former minister Prattipati Pullarao administered the oath in the presence of several public representatives and alliance leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Achannaidu said the government is giving special focus to the development of the Guntur Mirchi Yard, one of the most important markets in Andhra Pradesh. He assured steps to reduce farmers’ investment burdens and losses. The minister advised chilli farmers to reduce pesticide usage and focus on quality yield to compete in international markets. He added that the government would take a positive decision if a report is submitted on relocating the yard from the city center. He promised comprehensive development of the market yard under the new committee.
